Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the entire procurement process, from sourcing to contract negotiation and supplier selection.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.-
  • Draft, review, and manage purchasing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.--
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage risk, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Set up and optimize purchasing processes, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead negotiation efforts to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with global project teams to align purchasing activities with project requirements.
  • Analyze market trends, global material costs, and supplier data to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, savings, and performance metrics.
  • Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office tools to manage purchasing data and processes effectively.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as finance, engineering, and production, to ensure seamless procurement operations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of buyers or procurement specialists, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to procurement.-

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; additional legal education is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in purchasing and project management.
  • 5+ years of negotiation experience.
  • Fluent in Chinese (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in drafting purchasing contracts and setting up purchasing processes.
  • Experienced in supplier management and onboarding.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and strong skills in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Effective negotiator with strong influence skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working with global project teams.
  • Understanding of global material costs.
